The college was granted affiliation up to Intermediate level in 1998. Initially the college was started at Govt. girl\u2019s high school Garhwa and shifted to its own new building at Kalyanpur spread over 5.00 acres of land in 2008.<\/p>\n

Garhwa is a town located near the border of Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It\u2019s a district head quarter. It is one of the most backward district of Jharkhand in the field of education, health care and economic status.<\/p>\n

Education has always been an attentive part of human life. Garhwa has been a big challenge for girl\u2019s education because not a single women\u2019s college established here. At first the MLA and the father of the founder secretary of this college has a dream to establish a women\u2019s college. But unfortunately he couldn\u2019t do this. He couldn\u2019t survive for a long time. After his death, his son Mr. Girinath Singh became MLA of Garhwa constituency. Now it was the time to make true the dream of his father late Gopinath Singh.<\/p>\n

One evening in the year 1998 Mr. Girinath Singh held a meeting of some noted people of Garhwa to put the dream of his father about the women\u2019s college. These people were Shri Vijay Keshri, Shri Ran Bahadur Singh, Prof. Dr. Mahindra Singh and Prof. Dr. Mithila Singh.<\/p>\n

All these eminent people supported him to make true the dream as soon as possible because it was the most essential requirement of the people of Garhwa district. And, thus the dream came true, in the form of Gopinath Singh Mahila Mahavidyalaya Garhwa.<\/p>\n

Gopinath Singh Mahila College started its first session of Intermediate in the month of October 1998 with seven founder teachers. A part of the building of girl\u2019shigh school of Garhwahas been allotted to start classes into it. A new building built near Helipad in Kalyanpur 2 KM far from chiniya more.<\/p>\n

Now it is a permanent affiliated unit of Nilamber Pitamber University, Medininagar. Received 2f affiliation from UGC in 20015 and also accredited with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) By \u201cB\u201dGrade (CGPA 2.09)in 2017. It has a grand infrastructure having all facilities and Provide UG education in three stream Arts, Commerce and Science. It fulfils all the norms required.
